Mediacorp is set to unveil Berani Lakon!, a high-energy reality competition that challenges Singapore’s homegrown personalities to step out of their comfort zones and into the world of acting. Premiering on 16 December 2025 and airing every Tuesday at 8.30pm, the 9-episode series promises vibrant performances, suspenseful challenges, and the discovery of fresh local talent, making it a must-watch for fans of reality entertainment.

From the producers of the award-winning series Berani Nyanyi?, this new programme builds on its successful formula with a fresh, competitive twist to acting-based reality formats. Hosted by Era Farida and Hafidz Rahman, who was awarded Best Entertainment Host for Berani Nyanyi? at Pesta Perdana, the duo is joined by Endang Rahayu in her first series hosting role.

30 contestants with no acting backgrounds — including influencers, singers, musicians, athletes and chefs, will compete in three escalating rounds that test their stage and screen charisma: Screen Test (quarterfinals), Siapa Berani? (semifinals) and Aku Berani! (grand final). In line with Mediacorp’s continued mission to uplift homegrown talent, Berani Lakon! provides non-actors with the opportunity to discover and develop their acting abilities, offering a transformative platform for them to grow, perform and shine on screen. The winner of Berani Lakon! will earn a coveted appearance in a Mediacorp drama.

Contestants will perform in front of a distinguished judging panel that includes award-winning versatile personality Sharon Ismail; Sani Hussin, award-winning actor and theatre activist; Hisyam Hamid, a multi-hyphenate who has successfully broken into the Malaysian entertainment market; and renowned Malaysian actresses Sofia Jane and Sharifah Amani, among others. 

Following each main episode, viewers can enjoy Nak Jugak Bersama Pak Ju Judges, a digital special hosted by Najip Ali and Khairudin Samsudin (Pak Ju Judges). Known for their quick-witted spontaneity and good-natured roasting, Pak Ju Judges bring humour and unmistakable energy to both the main show and its digital content. In addition, Pak Ju Judges will select two eliminated quarterfinalists to receive a second chance in the competition. A total of twelve semifinalists will then compete over three weeks for a place in the grand finale. Nak Jugak Bersama Pak Ju Judges will be available every Tuesdays on mewatch and Mediacorp Entertainment on YouTube after the broadcast of Berani Lakon!.
