For the first time, the Festival unveiled the SIFA Pavilion at Bedok Town Square, a transformed multidisciplinary arts space that hosts the opening performance of The Sea and the Neighbourhood. Inspired by the area’s coastal heritage, this large-scale production brings together more than 70 musicians, dancers, and multidisciplinary artists. It features original music by composer Phillip Tan, dance by Singapore Ballet, video art by video artist Brian Gothong Tan, and a colossal kinetic installation, which also serves as a performance stage by visual artist Wang Ruobing. Festival-goers can catch two more live performances on 17 and 18 May at 7:30pm, free for all to attend!
From now until 1 June, festival-goers can also look forward to a diverse lineup of performances and programmes at the SIFA Pavilion, showcasing the best of local and international talent.
