Presented by artist Robert Zhao Renhui, the exhibition expands on Zhao’s long-term research on secondary forests in Singapore, and explores the multifaceted life of Singapore’s secondary forests, encapsulating the histories of settlement, colonisation, migration, and mutual coexistence among species.
Complementing the exhibition is a solo performance titled Ghost of Time by Park Min Hee specially conceived for the exhibition, that evokes reflections on Asia’s diverse landscapes. The artist Zhao will also be taking part in a special conversation with curator Haeju Kim, and Marine Biologist Yong Ding Li on 18 January, discussing the inspiration behind and the creation of the exhibition Seeing Forest, focusing on the intersection of art and nature.
