Kinderland held its annual Father’s Day celebration at Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place today. Through the event, fathers of Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place were honoured for their important roles in their children’s upbringing and education.

Fathers of Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place were joined by Guest-of-Honour Mr. Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC.

The celebration featured a parenting talk about balancing the role of fatherhood and work responsibilities. The talk was held by Mr Thuvinder Singh, General Secretary of the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore (UTES) and Central Committee Member of NTUC. The talk also sought to inspire, mobilise and involve fathers to become good influences in their children’s lives.

“At Kinderland, our goal is to foster a nurturing and supportive environment for our students and families, which cannot be done without the support of our Kinderland fathers and our families. Fathers play an important role in the growth of our children particularly between the ages of three to six. They tend to challenge their child and introduce them to the world to explore, gain new experiences and be more independent. This enhances a child’s self-esteem by boosting their self-confidence and helps develop problem-solving skills. We are glad to have our fathers here today to celebrate them and the special place they have in their children’s lives”, said Ms Patricia Tay, Cluster Head, Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place.

During the festivities, Kinderland held a prize presentation ceremony for the winners of its “best lookalike” contest for fathers and students, before presenting Mr Zhulkarnain with a token of appreciation for his attendance and support, a piece of artwork by Kinderland students themselves.

Students from Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place also put on special performances including a Pianica showcase for their fathers and the Guest-of-Honour, capping off a joyous occasion and celebration.

“These events at Kinderland Preschool @ Sunshine Place are well received and encouraging for us parents as the school gets us involved. It’s an opportunity for us to collaborate with the teachers and build a supportive ecosystem for our children,” said Mr Kenneth Kwong, a father of a Kinderland student at the school.
