Partnering non-profit organisations 4PM and Glyph Community, this iftar event demonstrates McDonald’s commitment to inclusion and community

In the spirit of Ramadan, McDonald’s hosted an inclusive iftar event, inviting families from diverse backgrounds to come together for an evening of good food while learning about each other’s cultural practices and festivities. Beneficiaries from non-profit organisations, 4PM (Malay Youth Literacy Association) and Glyph Community were joined by the McDonald’s Senior Leadership team at their West Coast Park family restaurant.

This iftar event saw Malay-Muslim families from 4PM and non-Muslim families from Glyph Community, breaking fast side by side as one – exemplifying McDonald’s dedication in bringing communities together for meaningful moments and creating opportunities to foster cross-cultural understanding.

Beyond enjoying meals provided by McDonald’s, guests took part in interactive activities such as creating DIY Ramadan lightboxes. They also engaged in a lively sharing session, where everyone learned more about how different cultural festivals are celebrated in Singapore.

“At McDonald’s, we believe in the power of inclusion and community. That is why we are proud and honored to host this inclusive iftar event that brings together underprivileged families from the community – creating a warm and welcoming environment for all to share in the joy of breaking fast together,” said Faz Hussen, Head of Legal, Government Relations & Sustainability, McDonald’s Singapore.

This Ramadan community initiative marks another meaningful milestone in McDonald’s continuous commitment to fostering inclusivity, demonstrating the brand’s dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of its customers and the Singaporean community.
